I read some posts and someone mention the MB dealer can turn on the alarm chirp. Can someone tell me how will it sound (is it sound the same as the PANIC button pressed) Will the MB dealer willing to do it without any charges? What they need to do, can I do it myself? Thanks for answer my question in advance. Also please forgive me if these questions sound dump to anyone...just want to make sure and make it clear for myself.

Welcome to the forums!

Your dealership can turn on the alarm chirp. What they have to do is put your car in Netherlands mode via the Star Diagnostic computer. Doing this will enable the chirp noise that you want.

When you lock your car, it will make three semi-loud beeping noises very quickly.

Keep in mind, if you do enable this mode, you will lose the functionality of your Panic button.

that's the reason i decide not to make the alarm chirp because of the panic would not work.

yeah, panic button blows...the first time we bought our benz, we thought the "panic" button was some super duper secret function that made the car do something "special" but instead it just turns on the alarm...wow...

haha...

but i still like to have that function because when i was a junior and senior in high school i was driving a 2000 328CI and there are a lot of people who don't know **** about cars and they just lean on your car and mass up the paint job. so when people lean on my car i like to use the alarm to scare them off, but with the BMW key you'll have to hold down the trunk buttom for quite long time which was pretty annoying.

anyway, i use the panic buttom to turn on the alarm if i see people try to lean on my car or put there bags on my car.
