Vogtland spring question....

I am getting Vogtlands installed tomorrow and have been reading how some have just put them on the front and have not bothered changing the stock C32 springs. I was just wondering if there was a specific reason for that? They don’t, for any reason, raise the back higher than the stock AMG springs do they? Oh, and I was going to use the stock C32 AMG spring pads that came with my car.

if you dont change the stock spring pads your car will be tucked. the problem with that you might have some rubbing issue. the c32 is low on the rear so some people just leaves the rear stock. but if you will replace the rear springs you should buy some #3 and#4 spring pad just to be safe.

Thank You for the reply. Is this true with all brands? Because I've read that the Vogtlands will lower your ride height more in the front than in the back and, if that is the case, I was under the impression I would just be able to stck with the stock pads and not have to worry about rubbing--especially since I have the stock 17" wheels?

^^^ i installed Vogtland springs on my C55. the gap distances are about the same from front and rear. i don't have any rubbing issues w/ 19s so i don't think you have to worry about 17s.

I see from reading one of your posts you left the original spring pads in place also. Good to know.

jtc55 --I found this pic of your car with Vogtlands installed but it's kind of difficult to tell from that angle. Do you by any chance have a picture from the side you can post? Also, did you measure the drop prior to and after installing your springs? Thanks.

Well, the Vogtlands were installed on Friday. I used the stock pads. I immediately could see a difference as soon as I picked up my car. There was about an inch drop in front and about half in the back giving my C32 a wedge-like appearance as advertised. Driving the car I can say that little comfort if any was sacrificed. The car handles better-less body roll in the corners and less of a bouncy feeling. After driving the car for a few days it seems like the springs may have settled a bit and dropped a bit more. All-in-all money well spent in my opinion. I took some before and after pictures and will post them in the near future.

Better late than never! Here is a picture about a month after I had the Vogtlands installed. (This is with stock shocks, stock rear spring pad and the stock 17'' AMG rims):
