New to board need help in phone, iPod

Hi All
Proud owner of 2005 C55 Granite gray with premium package, lighting package and Navigation.
I am planing to add a phone and iPod to my car.
What should i do, can i get it fixed out side of MB dealer or I need to go to MB dealer only for this to install.
My another car is BMW with BT phone integration (using 6310i), hence i would like to use that phone only with this car.
Pl. help me to under stand what i need to do this and your experiences and cost to do this.
Nice to have in my list is to add TV tuner or DVD play back on my navigation screen. ( are this Mods possible? can be done in BMW) pl. let me know.
I dont need any Engine modifications becasue it is has enough power for my enjoyment.
I am in DC metro area and need to know some after market shops who can do all this stuff or answer my questions.
Pl. excuse me for long post, this is my first one.
Thanks in advance

I personally did the exact two installs with factory MB product that you wish to do. You will have to determine what you're comfortable doing, and you will need the dealer to activate the phone equipment once installed so that it is recognized by the MOST ring. The phone being coded as 'present' will take care of the iPod. Make sure you get core kit BQ 682 0965, as it contains the updated MHI control unit for better audio quality. There was a revision to the iPod kit also, but I do not have that part number. Although, this was over 6months ago.

You'll remove most of the trunk (not left side) for the phone install, and the entire center console panels and equipment, plus the front passenger footwell for the iPod install.

My two installs, done separately, combined took me approximately 20hrs. That is a lot of time, but I am extremely methodical, each piece wrapped in cloth, perfect wire routing, each and every screw re-installed in the same locations they came from, etc. etc. etc.

The result, however, is perfect installations, no rattles, no damage, no secrets to keep from the next owner.

Thanks for your reply, I am not so technical to install my self.
I am looking for some after market installer who can do for me in DC metro area.
But thank you for your valueble inputs so that while talking to techies I will quote that they need to install Updated MHI.
I dont understand why we need to tell the dealer to activate my phone?
What I am thinking is C55 comes with pre-wiring done all need to be added is MHI unit and some controler unit. Once the MHI is installed in Armrest all we need to do is put the Cradle and phone to use it. Pl. correct me if i am wrong.
If not install Bluetooth adaptor to MHI and pair your BT enabled phone.
I would like to give it for MB or some Outside installer who can do job together so that I can gain some install labor charges.
Can some one tell me how much it cost me? Just a ball park figure.
Thanks in advance

You will need the dealer to active the phone system within the MOST optical ring of the car.

You should contact Steve at http://www.mbenznl.com/
