I have a brand new never been used IC Pump that I purchased from Ford (ford Lightning IC Pump). I paid $89 + $12 shipping. I will sell it for $70 + Shipping cost.
I just purchased it on 8/23/07 thinking that it would fit on my CL55, but as you guys here know (I guess, except for me), it doesn't.:crybaby2:
My stupidity is your gain, so let me know if you want the pump.
The part number is 8501L54.

What causes the high IA temps? Obviously the pump because thats what we are replacing, but why?Originally Posted by code3smith
You will be fine. The SC is protected by shutting down after IA temps reach a certain temp (02-250, 03/04-190). The car will just be sluggish if the SC is not engaging. It will not hurt anything though.
Just picked up the pump and the wiring harness for the Bosch. How much fluid will leak out when replacing, and how much to replace, when and where. Any info appreciated (The only topic not touched in the overview)

Might as well do a coolant flush, go ahead and buy a gallonOriginally Posted by highvoltz

of coolant, and have 2 gallons of distilled water, I went ahead
and did a coolant flush (30 minutes of waiting to leak out
through the reservoir and I had a compressor pumping air
into the reservoir on top. I managed to get 2.5 gallons of
liquid out of the system (includes what droped out when
I disconnected the original pump)

Thanx for a great topic!
I have a question though. Any one can help identify the relay and a fuse for i/c pump. I cannot find their location in the user manual

..if you look under the lid of the fuse box you may well see something like Watercooler Pump [3.2 charged engine].
I replaced this and my car is flying again...

Sorry for taking so ling to reply - I don't visit this board very often.
The Fuse is a 5A ornage blade fuse in my 02 SLK 32.
It blew again this weekend - but I carry a bag of fuses - 20 seconds later all 354BHP was back on tap.
I don't know why it fuses, but at 5p for a fuse it's not a problem to me.
good luck

Went to try and replace mine this weekend, hoping that I could get a pump from a dealer around here - $350+ was the cheapest
Definitely going to order one off the website mentioned in here and wait for it, same with the connector, and I guess I'll just have to deal with my 7.1s 0-60 times in this weather with the pump going
For reference, there's a bunch of different part numbers going around for the same pump, but I think I have them narrowed down :
Bosch P# - 0392022002
Ford dealer P# - F8YZ8501AA
Generic P# - 8501L54
and the connector's P# is WPT717 (Thanks Jerry
) Correct me if I'm wrong on any of those.
Also, would it hurt to do my air filters while the pump is going, so long as I don't go blasting around in the car once I get 'em installed?

Extremely pleased with the pump! Car is fun to drive again
Now looking at the Code3 pulley/intake combo.. let the modding begin...
Now looking at the Code3 pulley/intake combo.. let the modding begin...These "spring-loaded" clamps on the hoses - are they the same type of clamps that bind the Y-Splitter hoses directly after the air-boxes? If so, with a little help from my dad (shade-tree mechanic ftw!), I found a perfect way to get them back on.
Grab a pair of channel-locks (pliers with the adjustable second "arm"), size them so they fit over the movable clip on the one side and the ridge on the other, and squeeze gently. I suck at using channel-locks, always have, but I got the clips back on, first try on both of them, five seconds apiece
Also, to open the clips, all you need is a wide-bladed flat-head screwdriver. Stick the tip into the part that's clipped over the ridge, twist the driver sideways and bam, the clip is off. I guess you run the risk of bending them slightly, but that'd be all the more reason to replace 'em with *REAL* hose clamps, lol!
And if the clamps are different ones, then I guess I'm in for a headache next weekend...

Just wondering if anyone has any photos of the IC pump replacement or where to direct me??

Post 91 has pics of the spliced wiring install, and...
... post 168 has pics of the connector that M3-Eater scrounged up.
There ya go, Newz. Lemme know if the links work for ya.

So I think my pump is going out now at 41k miles, and I'm wonderring if the pump at the following link is what I need to get, and also if those connectors will work or if I need to get something else on top of that? Is there a better link that anyone knows about that I can get the pump at if this one isn't good? Thanks in advance:

Update for this thread.
the bosch IC pump can be replaced with another bosch Pump with part number 0 392 022 010 instead of 0 392 022 003.
Electrical connector is the same and the hose fittings.
