Don't mean to be nosy but would you mind to elaborate on what happened? If not, I understand.

I'm sure KW will take care of the issue. They're usually pretty quick to resolve issues whether big or small AND even when a customer decides to not follow guidelines (aka too low).

Not at all. Let me elaborate on behalf of Kneel. He was out one day testing out the new suspension setup and feeling like a pimp. So that being said he felt he needed to pick up a couple of ... Guess he felt pretty anxious and picked up a 2 fat chicks. He was at the time and couldn't wait so he stuffed the chicks in the viper. Since they were pretty heavy the KW suspension couldn't handle the added extra weight and the suspension totally gave up.

To make a long very complicated story short, I will sum it up for you.

These coilovers for the rear mount at the fork, and somehow the stock bolts did not fit threw the coilovers and they were supposed to according to KW. So we drilled larger holes in the coilovers, I was not happy, but did it anyway. After that, the only way for the car to sit even at the rear was for one spring perch to sit over 1 inch lower then the other side, I was not happy but did it anyway. After that, I was driving one night and all the sudden hear loud bang and rubbing, I pulled over and was able to see the spring perch totally failed, broke and dropped. Mind you this car is about 1.5" off the ground and its nearly impossible to fit a jack under the car, let alone a flatbed. But I am having some "specialist" take a look at this on Monday to see what the story is. Overall its very upsetting.

Ouch. I hope you get this resolved soon. Hopefully nothing else got damaged.

Were the coilovers designed for your year Viper or was it for a previous year/model causing the slight variation in bolt sizes?

Yes, they were made specifically for the exact car i have. The previous generation viper ones would not even fit at all. KW checked all the part #s I gave them from my springs and shocks and they are still unsure even after seeing so many pics. I hope i find out what it is on Monday.

hope you get the coilover issue resolved.

at this point I can't say I have faith in KW after hearing some stories that people have with KW setup. Especially the one that I saw with my own eye that happened on my friend's full Hamann GTR E46. The front right shock completly blew up. The sleeve of the shock tore open as if you were un-zipping a jacket. One good thing is that they have life-time warranty on them. He's now waiting for them to send him a new shock. He had only 15k miles on the setup and never tracked.

Nice whip Neal! I bought a set of 542 black for my e500 from you a year ago. It's good to see them catching on. I think they are a good alternative to the same old style wheels everybody gets. Keep pimpin!!!

A lot of people I know who run KW's dump the **** out of their cars which puts the shock out of KW's recommended operating range (including myself). You definitely run the risk of blowing the shock at that low of a height but I have yet to see KW not warranty any of the failures. Customer support from KW has never been much of an issue. Tom is the man.

I know some people will ask why design the suspension to go that low in the first place? For show.

nah...his car is no where near slammed. The front has 1 finger gap and rear is even. This is the ride height he has always ran on the kw v2, so we were surprised at what happened as well. especially no pot-hole was involved. He said all he heard was a clunk on the way home from class. the second pic you can see because the shock is gone it's only riding on springs and the camber is f-ed up causing the tuck.

I blame operater error. It's a user problem, not a suspension issue

I had the KW V2's on my old car and loved them, which is a main reason I went with them again, (that and there are not many options out there for the Viper). I know a few people with the V2s on other cars and I sell a lot of them and never had an issue. So I still like KW, and i feel they will take care of this. But if they don't by next week when we figure out the problem, I think I will have a different view on them. I already feel like I should hate them since I cannot drive my car for over a week, but I am just trying to stay calm.

That's actually pretty low especially in the 2nd pic. Dut's M3 was about the same height and there wasn't much more room to play with.

You didn't get raped a couple times this week at the gas station so it all evens out.

well, in the second pic the front right shock is already KIA. LOL the first pic shows the height he has the car at. The Hamann GTR kit is also a lot lower than the CSL kit.

anywayz, it's definitely not a good feeling when your suspension has gone bad and can't drive the car. I've sold KW as well, they do have great customer service.
