Experts -- just bought a 05 C55 and loving it --couple of quick questions

1) car has 5k miles -- is it ok to fully open it up now?
2) what's the best place to get a car cover for the C55?
3) is it worth going to the MB dealer for the first service (computer is saying I am overdue) or can I go to one of the quick Oil change stations?

1) Yes. Your C55 should have already passed the break-in period. Now go out and mash on the throttle.

2) For a perfect fit on the car cover, you should buy it from the dealer.

3) Since you own an AMG, never go to one of those quick oil change stations. You don't want to risk any damage to your engine, unless you are absolutely sure the person working on your car knows what he's doing. An inexperienced tech may put the wrong oil or overfill the oil. I think one of the members here had a bad experience with his C55 at a quick oil change station.

Mercedes does not make a cover sepecifically for the C55 since it is the combination of a W203 and W209 body. If you have the hood ornament then a standard C-class cover will not fit. If you put a flat badage on then it will. If you want to keep the hood ornanment on then you should get a cover from a place like www.customcovers.com or sreach the web for a place that makes them.
