I agree with AWDman- braking distances have more to do with tires than the size of your brakes. Stopping distances MIGHT drop by a few feet with huge brakes, but it's not going to be a significnat difference. Like he said, you're limited by the coefficient of friction between the tarmac and the tire. Large brakes dissipate heat more quickly, therefore, they will not fade as easily- that's the biggest advantage of larger brakes, along with much better brake feel.

Cracking has everything to do with heat- cross drilled rotors are not optimal for road course work because they crack too easily. Slotted rotors used in conjunction with brake cooling ducts are best for heavy track use, along with some nice aggressive pads.... just my .02

What exactly ARE cross-drilled rotors optimal for? Are they all show, no go? Too bad solid and slotted rotors are not available for the C32.

I think the advice on here is good. SLK55 6 pot package is enough but you MUST also do the rear.

C55
I am also thinking about doing this swap on my C55 really soon. I'll be doing a 8/4 piston set up from a CLS55/E55/CL55 but my question is, Can i use the stock CLS55/E55/Cl55 pads and rotors? Or would i need to use the smaller pad n rotors from the CLK55/SLK55? Annnnnnd if i use the smaller pads in rotors, would it be a direct bolt on? Or would i still need to modify to make them fit? Does anyone have a video or pics on this swap? If so, please help. Thanks guys.

55K Rotors won't fit, due to high Rotor hat offset,

your front knuckle hole is (M12), and "55K" caliper brackets uses (M14) bolt, you will have to enlarge your knuckle hole (2.5mm),

"55K" pads won't fit to "C32/C55" Rotors, they are way more high,,

you can install "55K" calipers with differ Rotors, as proper combination..
