Neone tried to race a C5 vette?

I was on my way home and I saw this black C5 vette approaching really fast on passing lane of hwy. I was already doing over 10mph of speed lmt and this guy got behind me real close and started to flashing his highbeam..

So I downshift'd to 3rd and switched lane so he can be next to me.. I saw him approaching really fast and I floored it as he approached near by my driverside (I'm pretty sure he was trying his best to pass me. There was no traffics front of him).

As I floored from 3rd gear, I pulled on him about 2 cars and I had to shut down because there was a 18wheeler right front of me...

AFter that, he did one of those ricer fly by and i gave him thumb down...

nebody else raced a C5 b4?
Maybe I was racing by myself..I thought it would be a very close call.. i donno.. what ya think?

I have...

on the street (industrial area)

probabably a 98 or 99 model... and I think it was auto.

we both had a left turn (double left)

and once we were going straight forward, we both hit it.

I was already in 2nd gear at about 40mph, therefore I had full boost.

Once I hit 3rd at about 80, he gave up. He was a few cars back.

We proceeded to drive normally for about a few miles and we departed ways.

I owned a 98 C5 prior to my C32. I had a 6spd and I must say that although these cars are close, the vette felt slightly faster than my beloved C32 does now (both cars stock). In terms of an auto vette, I would imagine them to be comparable.

Here's me getting chased by a C5, first generation Z06.

I could hold my own, but they have 400 HP and less weigh, and bigger tires. I was passed on a later straight.
