question about my rpm

alright i have a question. its probably stupid but whatever. so i have a 2005 c230 kompressor and i noticed that when its at exactly 3000rpm its only at 73mph whereas my 05 accord at 3000rpm will be at 80mph and so does my corolla. is it cuz the benz is supercharged? thanks in advance guys.

im sorry but first of all this is a C32 C55 amg forum. you should hit up the W203 C Class forums.

second, 3000rpm doesnt mean anything, you can be on 5000rpm at 78mph. no difference. it depends how you drive, you can let the car speed up and drop ur rpm down to 3000 if you want.

Well it is probably because those japanese engines are high reving SOBs.

We had an Accord and that thing would cruise nicely at MUCH lower RPMs than our other cars. Your car probably is in its highest gear and 3000rpms is the lowest it can rev to keep at 73. Do 73 in a Honda S2000, and I'll bet it probably isn't even revving over 2500rpms! It all depends on the engine.
