2006 BMW X5 4.8is and 2005 C55 AMG
One member, Bennyz has tried several different shots. I think the only time he ran into trouble was with a 125 shot, but he has a blower and many other things on his car. Right now I believe he is using a 50 shot without any problems. I would say a 50 or 75 shot should be safe maybe you could even go a little higher, but really why do nos at all when there are so many better routes to take in terms of performance upgrades. This is a Benz after all not a Ford, GM or Honda.

I know there are many options out there but other then putting a S/C system (close to $10,000 isnt it?), I don't see how can I even gain 20hp out of small add on parts.. Maybe I'm wrong.. I'm new to Merc world (previous cars were bmws, audis and fast jap imports). hehe..
I figure if nos is safe for our cars, it's best way to gain hp.

the only problem is that you can never have enough power and you get used to everything.
I have it all:
S/C
Headers
Cams
Exhaust
Airbox
and a 50 shot of nos...
and the car feels slow!
point is this - you get used to everything.
I now have a new project going on...
new Z06 with an APS twin turbo kit and exahust...
should be doing the 1/4 mile in 9 seconds! stay tuned in the next couple of months! and that should be enough - I hope!

ECU + airbox from renntech alone cost $2000+.
Simple wet kit is much more affordable and still produce more hp.. NOS is better deal for me atleast..
BennyZ:
have you dyno'd your C55 ? Any pictures? man.. I'm jealous.. I've been thinking about getting a used Z06 for track use.. hehe

Wow... Very nice man!!
I plan on not upgrading exhaust parts for my car.. I got tired of loud exahust (I've owned 350rwhp 3rd gen Rx7 and 500rwhp supra). lol.. Plus I don't think I will spend that much money for hearders to gain 10-20 hp..
I probably get K&N or Green filters (still can't decide which one) and 50shot of N/x.
Thank you for your pictures.. You have a great looking car.

Here is a project I did to a SLK55 and using a 125HP Wet Kit and a
Drive-By-Wire-WOT Switch. It works very well with the correct jetting
If I can provide any information on the install or wiring, please PM me

I'm using a .033 fuel and a .065 NOS

same exact mixture - I thought it was awesome and I was runing it with the RENNtech S/C system. It was a lot of power - hard to keep straight - Hartmut did not approve...it was too much for the engine so we took it out.
Can't argue with Hartmut!

So I went the cheap HP route for now.
The DBW WOT is set to engage at 3k and off at 6k with a WOT voltage of 4.5
also do you have any photos of what your install looked like?
I will be out at moroso tonight if the rain stays away.
I have the M/T drag radials that DragonAMG had on his C55 when he made that 11.99 pass in Veags, they still have the nipples on them

yes, I have the pictures but I am in Vegas now so I will only be able to email them to you in 10 days when I get back...
Hartmut is awesome. My car is now 2 years old and it is the longest car I have owned in 11 years! I love this little rocket...
I bought a Z06 (coming in November) and I am putting a twin turbo on it...
Have fun tonight!

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner In the "best post illustrating speed addiction" category! That's a pretty big step from even a RENNtech C55, and is yet one more piece of proof that for many of us, the search for thrills will never end.
