Thinking about Jeep SRT-8

I know that I'm not going to get a lot of support on this on here...

But anyways, I'm thinking of trading the C55 for the Grand Cherokee SRT-8. I'll be moving to an area where snow is more an issue and hence have been considering a more competent winter vehicle than the C55. I've only heard awesome things about the SRT8 Jeep (except for the fact that you almost need your own private oil refinery...). Any thoughts from the fellow C55 drivers would be appreciated. Do any of you have a Jeep SRT8 or have you driven it? If so, any thoughts on how it compares to the C55 would be appreciated. Thx.

Srt-8

My friend has an SRT-8, and it is a beast. He has intake & exhaust, and you can hear that car from like a 1/2 mile away. I've driven it a couple times, and as you can expect , it's really fast and the throttle response is great. I've never driven a C55 , so i have no basis for comparason...but i love my friend's SRT-8. He beats up on Porsche's all day long, it's quite funny the look a Porsche owner gets on his/her face when he see's himself getting beat by an SUV. Plus it's a lot cheaper than anything in it's class (ML 63, Porsche Cayenne turbo (S)), although it's not as luxurious as them on the inside. And yeah it burns a boat load of gas. Never heard anything about how it handles in the snow, although it is All-Wheel drive.

Doesn't make a ton of sense, but if you're going to get a "sport" SUV, it might as well be a big, mean, nasty Jeep, and not something trying to be a sports car (like a Cayenne). Must be FUN at stoplights.

PS: I highly recommend (recommand?) that you get a set of narrower winter tires. Even if they're all-season, tires as wide as those on the SRT will be awful in snow.

never driven or know anyone who owns a jeep srt8 but those things look sick, just the specs are insane, from what ive read in reviews those things hit hard in acceleration.

In Snow?

If one of your justifications to moving to a SRT-8 is due to snow ... I'd imagine the SRT-8 is probably worse than the C55.

Very fast, nice looking vehicle. Not to mention you have a nice choice of mods at a reasonable price.

Downsides? You will take a huge hit in value the minute you drive off the lot and I am not sure how the interior quality is (have not been in one).

It is a tough vehicle to beat for the money.
