Hello, today after filling my car with gas I went to screw the cap back on, but it would not work. I am not sure what caused this as it has always worked in the past. Anyone have any ideas or experiences regarding this problem? It is a 02 C32 with 29K miles.

I've had this happen on both my MBs - you should be able to use a pliers or something to simultaneously raise the little metal tabs and then turn it back into place. Post a pic of the cap and I can tell you if this is the same problem. It's kind of a ***** because you have to squeeze up and around, and the tabs are hard to work with, it will slip, etc...but it's probably the exact same thing that's happened to me. Not a big deal once you figure it out, but it can be a pain in the ***. Sometimes I think it might be easier to just buy a new cap

Hi Bif, thanks a lot for your advice, it is very much appreciated. I just tooled around with the cap for about 5 minutes and it is now fixed. Thanks again for your help.
