I can't own a Z06 for the same reason that I can't not own great golf clubs.
I need an excuse! You can't go to a track event in a Z06 unless you're prepared to dust off everything else there!
That's an amazing car at any price. It just happens to be a great price. It's the one American car that the Euro car magazines seem to respect.

I'm interested in hearing your impressions of the Z06 after you've driven it for a bit. Pls update us after 1wk, then 2wks, 4, etc. I'm on the list for one and my time will probably come to order it in a few months as I don't want to pay over sticker. I just have to decide if I really want it, as I already have 3 cars and I fear the C55 would have to go. Let me know if you think it's worth trading the C55 for the Z06...

IMO you should keep the C55 and get the Z06.

C32 AMG - in Pewter
The Z6 is a monster (I wish I had that from experience). I have a review at home comparing the Z6, Ferrari (Enzo?) and 911 turbo on a F1 track in Europe. They gave the nod to the Ferrari (three or four times the price) as they found it more refined and the engine sounded great (?), etc.
As far as test results, like lap times, accelleration, max speeds, etc. etc., the Z06 was a clear winner. So, if it came to a race, Z06 is a winner.

Yeah!!!! now your talkin' that's the 1st cosmetic mod you need to do to that perfect car, besides tint & a lil lowering (about $250 on stock bolts w/labor)

Against 65' AMG's you will beat them to 0-60 but freeway roll-ons will be leaning towards the 65's since weight will be less of an issue, but still damned close races in all scenarios, after your mods you listed you will be untouchable by anything Mercedes or AMG has to offer period!

for those of you who know me, nothing stays stock!
so expect an intake, exhaust, and headers first, followed by some mean cams
and some computer work and 550 - 600 rwhp is right around the corner...and when that gets old - twin turbo conversion 
As for the ENZO (car is insane but it also would cost me about another $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ - so yeah) and not by a big margin...and after the mods...I will somke an enzo! Yes, I used the word smoke
BUT my car will never look like the enzo (which is my personal fav!) nor will it ever get the respect the enzo gets and deserves!
As for the 65s - the Z will do just fine on the highway, on the track, or just about anywhere - and I am only refering the the SL65 - the CL65 and the S65 are no match.
