C32 suspension knock
I've a 2002 C32; under braking on rough surfaces (say on a catseye, braking zone markings etc) the front suspension appears to "knock".
It's only evident on rough surfaces, and under braking. Rough with no braking it's fine, as is smooth surface braking.
The design of the top mounts looks as though it has some lateral movement which may explain the knock especially on broken surfaces.
Any ideas ?
Thanks
Mark

There are at least 3 technical service bulletins for this problem. Most common is bad thrust bushings.
You were right there are a number !
P-32_25-07 010901 Suspension - Front Axle Thumping Noise on Rough Roads
Looks about right. It's due for a service B in about 600 miles so I'll try and get it looked at... along with it's coolant leak which is being ignored by MB !
