Controlling upshifts while in "D" mode

Controlling upshifts while in "D" mode
This might be obvious to some, but I never thought to try it. Usually, you put the car in "D" when you want it to control everything for you, or you modulate the throttle to control when the car upshifts.
A curious thing that I stumbled upon is that if you nudge the shifter right (for an upshift) while the car is already in "D", it will respond to your command unless it is already in fifth. What I found is that I could get the car into fifth gear shortly after a stop sign at 30 mph. Even under harder acceleration (still not wide open), I could tap it right and it would upshift immediately.
Why you would ever need this is beyond me, but it is there. Next time you are in "D", try tapping your shifter to the right as you accelerate.

just gives u more variety in acceleration, all MBs with touchshift do this btw. Say you want to floor the accelerator getting max torque but dont want the RPMs to go sky high to 6000, tap the lever at 3800-4000 and continue doing whatever. I think it is a great feature.
