Why is Kleeman the only one that converts to crank HP. We want Rear wheel HP numbers, not sum number based on a driveline loss guess.

447BHP ~ 366RWHP, assuming 18% loss

447BHP ~ 358RWHP, assuming 20% loss

It's in the ballpark.

The Industry standard for loss thru Auto trans is 17% for both HP & TO..I don't understand where you get your info

Not trying to be a jerk here, just want more info, explanations thanks..

I have seen posts of 18% to 20% as typical for an automatic. This is not really accurate, since it is only an approximation. I doubt it would be exactly 17%, all the time, for all applications. Even dynos can vary, by more than this.

The drive train loss is subject to temperature. The friction varies depending on how perfect the bearing are and how pure the transmission fluid is.

The engine dyno is really the only way to measure the true BHP of the engine and even that, depends on the accessories and whether all parasitics are present.

It has to be closer to 17% maybe less, My C6 is rated at 400hp 400to Stock dyno was 350rwhp 360rwto It's rumored GM underrated these things and shows w/17% loss 421 crank hp & 433 Crank torque for my A4 Auto..

If I used your 18-20% loss these STOCK #'s are way to BIG....426-437 BHP
& 439-450 Crank Torque...

No way GM did that much underrating..

Lots of tuners insist on using these inflated precentages just to fetch more padded results after tuning...It's pure BS on there part real number is closer to 17% or less for Auto tranny's

For comparison Honest tuners use 12-13% loss for manual trans..

Drivetrain loss is not as simple as a percentage. There is no "industry standard" either. Percentages are a rough approximation at best.

that's what pruven told me as well when i did my dyno. as rpms climb then percentage goes down...ie the power absorbed by tranny becomes an essentially fixed number.

i think my c32 with full sl55 intake, evosport stg 2, supersprint exhaust and 100 octane will put out similar or better numbers. the car is amazing. right now i'm not driving much due as i want to verify my tranny does not have the dreaded 02 glycol contamination.

MIDO- have you ever tried race octane gas? although the evosport windshield resevoir mod is good i don't think the IC core can handle the heat dissapation requirements at the higher boost level.

We are working with a local tuner here on a intercooler kit for the C32/SLK32. We have a pre production version of it kit installed and intake temps NEVER go abobe 172 where as the car used to shut the blower off regularly (199 degree intake temps) when road racing in must 68 degree weather. When I say 172 I mean that is the highest temp seen while road racing for 45 min straight in 105 degree weather (middle of summer). Since the upgrade the car has never shut down due to high intake temps where it would olny last 3-4 laps before the upgrade.

The final kit will likely have even lower temps than the current kit but even in its current form the car is far quicker than it used to be. You are right the stock system is not ready for pulley upgrades coupled with road racing.

awesome. pl let me know when ready. i assume this is a new/bigger core? this takes care of that other potential prob area!

can't wait for time trialing this yr. although i have been fixing a dedicated track car (swift) i will run the c32 a few times.

I might be interested in a better intercooler for the blower. Is there someone else here working on one also?

Apparently there is a heat exchanger for the Cobra (Ford Mustang) which can be placed behind the bumper see 1fastc32 post. he has worked up brackets for mounting it on C32.

I'd rather see performance numbers (0-60, 0-100, 1/4 mile).

Sorry for the delay in answer, I'm back in Lebanon doing my work and have not had any net.

No, I have not tried race octane gas, I drive my car Only on Shell V-Power.

They remapped the ECU, changed camshafts, new headers with downpipes and instaled a LSD. I have also ordered a stearing wheel in lether/carbonfibre, but sadley it was not ready before I had to go back to Lebanon. But will be ready for my leave in April.

They also removed your primary cat. Nice sound.

They might have replaced the primary cats, but I doubt that they removed it. The c32 sounds AWFUL with no cats

Removing the primary cats and programming them out is done on a lot of Kleemanized cars. No problemo so far.
