new here + winter wheels/tires

I am a new member. I come from Audi community. My Stage3 2001 S4 is now a dedicated club racer. Since Fall I have been enjoying a fully loading black on black 2006 C55. For a few months now I’ve been trolling this forum, but until now had nothing to contribute. However, recently I purchased winter wheel and thought other members might benefit from my experience.

I was searching for an inexpensive, strong, OEM looking, 17” wheel which would clear front calipers and mount 225/45/17 tire. Tire and wheel size was an obvious choice, plus I already had Nokian RSi (arguably the best winter tire). Anyway, I found Eurotech wheels. They are primarily sold via ebay. I bought a set of 4 17x8 with bolts and valves. The set shipped was slightly over $600. Unfortunately I did not have a chance to weigh them, but they look and feel solid and heavy, which is great for winter wheel. The time will show if they are strong enough, but so far I am very pleased. To an uninitiated they look OEM, they fit great and they are of perfect size.

Dude those look identical to mine and I got them for $500 balanced and mounted at discount tire by me. I put Hankook winter tires on them. So far no issues and handles exceptional imo.

Yea, it’s the same wheel. EuroTech supplies Discount Tire (DT). However, due to copyright laws, DT no longer sells MB center caps. They also do not guaranty fitment. And their warranty is kind of sketchy. There are no DT dealers in Boston and I did not want to risk the need to return. Plus I really desired center caps with MB logo. The price is very similar if you account for the fact that I got center caps and a kit with bolts and valves. Bottom line, so far I am very happy with these rims and I highly recommend them as a winter setup.

Thanks for the welcome. S4 is a beast anywhere, but now I only drive it on the track. It’s being retuned and I keep cutting weight. Even so, it’s already around 400whp and 3000lb. Full race suspension (STaSIS/Ohlin coilovers, CPP kit which removes all rubber from suspension, etc.). Lots of work to motor, tranny and body. Below is an older pic.
