H&R Spacer Question

hi all,

i bought h&r spacers part# 2055665 -- which is listed on the h&r website for w203, bolt pattern 5/112, center bore 66.5. so it seems it should work for my C32.

i bought them from a C55 owner who used them on his car. but when the shop tried to install it, they gave it back to me saying they were the wrong size and that it wouldn't fit around the hub. i told them that was impossible, so they showed me.. and sure enough.. it's just slightly bigger.

was just wondering if anybody else had that problem out there and if it's possible that i may have a hub cover of some sort? honestly i couldn't tell with the grease and all... just looked like a reg hub to me.

The standard H&R spacer for the W203 will not fit a C32. I am surprised that you say the guy used them on his C55, I would think that it is the same as the C32.

Either way you will need to get them modified by a machine shop or sell them and get the right ones.

Thats really weird. Are you using these on the front?

You mention the hub cover - you most likely need to remove this. Which is pretty common to have to do.

Zeppelin: What's up! but yea when you go to the H&R website and search for the C32 or C55 or even W203, they all come up with the same list of spacers with the same center bore, 66.5. it only lists the different part #'s depending on which size spacer you need.

W Cole: yea it is really weird. i'm not even sure if it has a hub cover or not. is it really common for a C32 to even have hub covers? i really haven't had time for a shop to just check to see why the spacers won't fit b/c the first time i took the car in to get it lowered and the second time to get alignment done. two separate shops and both shops just believed that the spacers were just the wrong size.

i'm starting to think the spacers are the correct size and that my hub is the one that is wrong.. but that's just .

also... i'm thinking of getting DPE wheels, but then i'm kinda paranoid now, like watch them send me the wheels after paying however much they cost (not cheap)... and then taking them to the shop and they're like, "sorry, your wheels are the wrong size, they just won't fit around the hub"..... wtf? are u serious?

so maybe i'm reading too much into this and i'm hoping that it's just a simple fix like a hub cover or something, but still why so many problems yanno? i just want some nice looking wheels! haha... i take it nobody else out there has ever had this problem before. i suck.
