Talking C55 Rear tire size????

I just picked up an 05 silver c55 and turns out the tires are pretty bald. Surprise surprise. Anyways I need to get all seasons cause I live in chicago and frankly C55 with bald tires in the snow can be fun in an open parking lot, but aside from that is a little scray. Luckily its stopped snowing and its 40 degrees outside. Anyways to the point, I wanna get the bridgestone potenza RE960AS pole positions but unfortunately the smallest width that I can get that they make is 265/35 for the rears and they make the 225/40 for the fronts so thats not an issue. Just basically seeing if anyone has gone that wide and had any problems with it. Also thinking about winter tires but not sure how small to go, the dealer said maybe 17" but not sure. Finally aftermarket rims. Trying to find out how wide and big I can go without rubbing with a full car????? Any suggestions definately appreciated.

those are too big for an 8.5 rim I would bet. You'd want a 9.5 rim for 265's

Well i checked with the local tire shop and they said it will fit but just a matter of whether it will rub or not is the question.

No I got it shipped from Bolder Colorado, got it with 7000 miles on it, which i thought was pretty sweet for 37k so im pretty sure i got a good deal to. SO anyways anyone know of any other upgrades for the car cause I really don't feel like supercharging it while theres still a factory warranty on the car, maybe afterwards, but I can't find a lick of aftermarket parts besides door pins and emblems. I called eisenmann for there exhaust which should be coming out shortly but thats not out yet. Any help??

Hey did you get that at the VW dealership because I looked at that car and man it was so clean and the tires where brand new, just look at the miles.
7k miles and needs new tires, something is wrong here. They must have switched out the tires because the Pirellis that were on there were in great shape. You did get a deal because I would have bought that car if I had just seen it a month before, it was listed at 39k about 2 months ago.

Yeah I got it at the Gebhart VW in Bolder. I told the guy that I had an offer for 38000 for a red one with around the same milage and told him i would take it as long as I could get it shipped for that much, were in business. He dropped it down to 37k and it costed me 600 to ship it. So saved an extra 400 and got a color i wanted. Yeah i don't recall if they took pictures of tires but it was probably a picture of the fronts cause the rears are pretty bad.
