Help Please-owner of 2002 C32

Hi from Toronto, Canada,

I bought my used 2002 C32 In Oct 2004 and at that time it had 35,000 Kms on it. NOw it is at 93,000 Kms and there are a few maintenance things that I have to do. Prior to this I had taken it to the Dealer for almost everything.

Things that I have to get done now are:

1. Changing the spark plugs
2. Change Main Fuel Filter
3. Change Air Filter
4. Replace front and rear rotors and pads.

The total cost for doing all this including parts and labour and taxes is around CAN $ 2700. I myself don't have much expertise about cars, I am willing to learn and do as much as I can, however I would like to get some suggestions as to what I can probably do myself.

My questions are:
1. Are there any stores in the Toronto area that sell good performace aftermarket parts for this car ?
2. Should I have these services done at the Dealer or can I get them done elsewhere by someone who works at lets say Midas, but knows what he is doing?
3. Rotors-front ones are drilled-but rears are not and pads any suggestions which ones I should get?
4. Do I also have to replace the sensor which has not come on yet, but then I have to push the pedal quite low to get good braking ?
5. Any suggestions for aftermarket spark plugs ? I was told not to use NGK at all.
6. Air Filter ? any suggestions?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Avi

Second the Denso IK-20 plugs. You will see a lot of debate about Denso IK-20 versus IK-16 versus IK-22. I went with IK-20, no problems. Magnecor wires were a good choice also. I put K&N filters into mine. Agree on the OEM rotors, don't have any input on the pads.
I did all the above work on my car myself except the brakes (don't need doing yet). Total cost was
Plugs $122
wires $140
filters $81

Fuel filters scare me. Maybe I'm a wimp. Static electricity and all.

Regards,
Pete
