getting radiator changed tomorrow, what else should i buy?
i'm getting my radiator switched out tomorrow. the mechanic told me to bring all parts. i assume i need the radiator, tranny fluid, radiator fluid, and a tranny filter. which weight tranny fluid should i purchase and which brand is recommended? any feedback would be appreciated.

1. Original M-B coolant. NO OTHER SUBSTITUTE. System capacity I believe with flush is 10.4 liters (50/50 mix is appropriate for our climate).
That's it.
Things you "might" need:
If your mechanic is sloppy, and spills boatloads of transmission fluid when disconnecting the fluid lines to the radiator, you may need a bottle of original M-B fluid to top off the transmission. He can prevent this by wrapping saran wrap tightly around the open ends and taping the wrap until ready to reconnect. A powder-free latex glove will work also; or he can let them drain into a container until he's done and then refill the transmission with it. Oh, and if you want to top off the transmission, you need to buy the dipstick ($77 from my local dealer, $25 off Ebay).
Other possibilities: o-rings for either the cooler lines or the radiator hoses if they are deteriorated.
You won't need a transmission filter unless your guy is going to drop the pan on the transmission, which is not needed to change the radiator.
That's all I can think of...anyone else?
Regards,
Pete
