Does your car fix itself?

So for the past week or so i've had a lic plate light out and it tells me in my messages but then about two days about i got the front right side marker light out. So i was like oh well whatever ill get the bulb when i get the lic plate one. Last night i got in my car and the front right side marker error was gone i got out and looked and it was back on and working perfectly. Weird how things just fix themself's. This happens on my other benzo as well. Crazy ish.

Mine has been doing the same thing! It's gone on and off twice in the past 2 months and it's been the same messages as yours. I never actually checked the lights to see if they were truly out though and I'm just chalkin it up to some wierd electrical glitch.

I think the wiring harness on these cars is flakey judging by various posts on the issue and fixes - also the SAM modules are junk and can cause wierd stuff.

Oh yeah, the fuse boxes also tend to have moisture build-up.

very simple answer!

bulbs as you now have a small wire that burns bright to create the light. when the wire breaks (rather like a fuse) the bulb is dead and the error message comes up.

However a little trick I learnt on home bulbs was to flick the bulb\knock it a little - the wires then bounces back and forth and with the intense heat it re forms and voila we have a working bulb again.

Same with your lights - the car is moving about making the little wire inside the bulb move - once a connection is made and the intense heat solders the join again you have a working bulb.

Simple as that.

I have a bulb at home that has blown 10 times yet I still get it working again with a quick flick of the bulb

So - at this stage its not some amazing nano tech from Merc - not yet anayway - thats to come 2009 models
