white and whiter
and yup, you will need 18"s if you don't already have them, so put that into consideration that's $7000 at least for brakes and wheels.

No, I believe the rear 030 setup is too big to accomodate a 17" wheel. I was advised by AMG that 18" were mandatory for the 030 brake option.

how in depth is the install?? I was just reading on another forum who did just the rear and he said he had to remove the hub and bearings etc. Thanks. I think everyone would like to know.

I think we all know what the improvement is. You can chant: "My brakes are bigger than your brakes!!!" That, and if you do 10 stops from 120 to 15 MPH, the bigger brakes will stay cooler. Whether they stop you quicker or actually reduce fade is another question.
But screw that. Look how BIG they are!!! :

1. Modify the ones on the car. You'll have to trim them to make room for the bigger rotor and caliper. Unless you have a nice cutting tool, I don't know how you'll do this without butchering it, although you won't be able to see the work because it will be hidden behind the rotor.
2. Buy the correct ones and cut into two pieces. This is what I chose to do. I was very specific in determining where to cut, cutting at the most narrow of places, and also not compromising the rest pads for the parking brake shoes. They are held on in four places (ie bolts), I cut so that each piece would be equally mounted with two bolts each. I had a machine shop cut with a precise fine shear saw, then repainted the plates. My back-up plan if cutting into two pieces compromised the strength was to then tick weld the two pieces once mounted. However, each piece is very stiff, and the parking brake function is not compromised.
3. Pull the hubs, replace the backing plates with the correct plates as one piece. Special tools are needed to pull and re-install the hubs. Furthermore, most likely the bearings will be damaged, so you will need two replacement bearing kits. No way, in my opinion. This I was not will to upset.
As far as the rest... The calipers and rotors bolted right on. I loaded the calipers before installing. The brake lines were no trouble, just an adjustment at the flex / to hard line connection to relax any twist that might be created when installing the brake line to the new caliper. Bleed the brakes (pre-filling the calipers even better) and you're done.

With the fronts installed, the braking will be incredible, and fade free. I can heat the stocks pretty easily. You're going from 4 / 2 piston to 6 / 4 piston, plus larger pads (nearly twice as big in the back) and larger rotors. The braking area is increased, plus much more force is used to bite the rotors.
It is impossible that the braking is not improved significantly.
But you're right - the look is incredible.
