I fixed my front end squeak...yeah!
Hey guys and gals,
I just thought I would let all of you know who have the squeaks from the front end over speedbumps and with hard turns that I fixed mine by doing the following:
Stock C32. No souped up ****.
1. replace the torsion bar bushings, also known as stabilizer bar bushings, also known as "rubber bearings". They wrap around the points where the torsion bar connects to the front axle carrier. M-B has redesigned these so now there are two rubber sleeves that fit over each side of the rubber bushing.
2. While I was there, I replaced the link rods that connect the torsion bar to the shock assembly.
Quote from M-B dealer to do the work: $825.00
Cost of parts from M-B dealer: $119.00
Time taken: 2.5 hours (and I'm not a pro mechanic).
You guys may want to check this thing out before having the dealer do a ****load of work for no reason.
Regards,
Pete
