Not sure if your nightmare was due to replacing everything or what, but just the splitter and hoses is NOT that big of a pain to do at all. I don't see why you would even bother with the filter housing from the 55 anyway. Throw greenies or K&Ns in the 32 boxes and you will have the same outcome. You won't gain any addition hp or tq by swapping either. I know others that have JUST used the 55 Y pipe and nothing else, other than rigged parts to help with fitting.
Replacing it all does not seem to be worth the money or hastle according to this...

Current SL55 numbers:
1- snorkle 113-094-16-82 (list $15.73)
1- snorkle 113-094-17-82 (list $15.73)
1- filter & housing 113-090-06-01 (list $162.00)
1- filter & housing 113-090-05-01 (list $162.00)
1- Y-splitter with hoses 113-090-01-29 (list $147.15)
(offered now in one piece)
It is best just to leave off the engine cover. The SL55 cover does not fit, the C32 engine cover has the mounts in the wrong place.
The SL55 Y-splitter hoses and air filter box can be made to occupy the space, but I would say they do not really "fit". It is like stuffing a fat lady in a girdle.
The filter boxes need a little trimming. The snorkles need to be shortened to stuff in the grille and are not a clean install. The filter mounting clips are not in the right place, just remove the clips on the underside of the filter. The front of the right filter tabs need to be trimmed to clear the oil filler cap.
There are a couple of clips on the firewall that should be removed or they cut in the very tight fitting Y-splitter. The Y-splitter hose is a hair too short on the right side.
The purge line on the right may need a little bending and persuasion for filter box clearance.
The hoses are tight enough to hold the air filter boxes in place.

What if you make a conversion between both engine covers? After reviewing the pictures, the SL55 cover aligns with the filter boxes and the original cover fits perfectly on top of the SC. I'm going to buy an SL55 engine cover and give this a try.
I have all the pieces to do the conversion, but this is my only draw back.
Also guys... consider green filters for the SL55 boxes.

do u have all the parts to do this mod?
can u post some pic of what u are going and what u have done?

harry, whatever you read is wrong, the cover will not just snap into place...you have to modify the cover in order to get it to work in the C32 engine bay...

1FASTC32 is right.
The SL55 engine cover will fit with some modification but it will not look 100% perfect. The clip has to be relocate in order to fit our engines. That's what I remember reading along with some trimming here and there.
Here is a picture from an old thread.

Harry, if you decide to buy a set, I'm selling mine (re: post #21 above)
Below is the invoice and the total cost that I paid (minus the engine cover that I canceled a few days after placing the order) was $326.76
These are brand new, and I just decided not to install them. Please note that they gave me a pretty heavy discount.
Let me know if you want to get them from me.

Thanks for the pms... lol i just realized.. pms..
anyway, I'm selling them invoice price. I wouldn't include the tax but I'll have to see how much the shipping will cost. I hope you understand, they are already discounted by my dealer and I just want to get my money back.
The airboxes were 35% off and the rest of the parts were 25% off.
Please remember, they are brand new, never been installed before, even the sticker tags are still attached. Regards

Harry Madan:
113-094-16-82 (Hose)
113-094-17-82 (Hose)
113-090-06-01 (airbox1 with filter)

I still need a buyer for my Y splitter. Cmon people.. help these two gentlemen here.
As I said in the beginning, I'd prefer to sell them as a set. If no one wants to outbid these guys (by buying the whole set) by Friday 06/08/07 at noon MST, then I'll part out.
Don't send me the payment yet. I'll have to verify the shipping cost first and let you know the total via PM. I hope USPS Parcel Post is ok.

you guys do realize all you really need is the y-splitter+the connecting hose plus a higher flow filter right? The 55 airbox doesn't really make a whole lot of difference.
the stock airbox already has enough flow, but the problem is with the T-splitter it chokes the air just before the TB. The y-splitter allows twice the air going into the TB.

i just did the full research about that and you are competently right, if u put the SL55 Air box in ur intake hoses in front of the car are not any bigger, so the inflow of air will not change, the Y-splitter is what make it work better,
i just finished the install on my car, and i got the Y-Splitter all in place without having to cut and past, i made it so it becomes a direct bolt on item. So i will no longer be trying to fit a SL55 air box in. However i dont have my car back yet so i can test it out.
thx for all the help guys, but i got my hands on an extra Y-splitter and a hose if some is interested i can sell those 2 things to u. all u need to do is buy an extra hose and its all ready to go. i'll sell the 2 things for a good price let me know if u want them.
