2001 Corvette Z06
C32 Amg

I am interested in the new C32 AMG and would like to gather as much information as I can. I want to make an intelligent purchase. Looking for best place to buy, etc, price, etc. I live in South Carolina, on the Georgia line across from Augusta, Ga. I would like to see one of these in person and test drive one, if possible. My closest dealer, Augusta, does not have one in stock. Autotrader shows the closest one almost 400 miles away in Fla. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, just added it to my favorites. Also wondering how many people who own C32 AMGs also have a Corvette...

if

your talking about a Z06..it will blow the C32 away in 1/4mile and handling...but if your just talkin about a regular corvette, i raced one from rolling @40mph and beat him by 3cars. With my c32 i have accomplished a 13.2sec 1/4mile. (and no there are no mods on the car yet)

I want this as the 'family' car, something that is an automatic. Great time, won't make me miss driving the Z06 as much as something slower.
Your time is right there with a C5 with auto trans, that is what they are turning around here in the quarter.
I imagine you get some surprised looks! People pointing when you pulled to the line, but then utter shock as you left! I would like to take one to the drags and see the reactions too!

i stun alot of people. First time i went i still had my paper plates on but past 1000miles ppl were in shock, especially when i pulled up and a camaro ss came up. I don't know how but i beat this guy by like 2-3cars. My friends back at the line said the crowd was in "awww" 4door beating a domestic 2dr. The whole night after that people were all around the car asking questions and the SS guy not believing me that my car was stock. Now i have nitto drag radials for the rear...i'll post that as soon as i go again.

So are you going to do any performacne mods to it. I know that air filters dont give much hp gain but superchargers do IMO spool up faster with them. Was the wheel spin so bad that you needed drag radials. WOW I had a supercharged 99 Z28 that would run 12.1 in the 1/4. That was until that drunk driver hit me. I found that using a K&N gave me "no" dyno increase in hp but I made 1 run at the track with a regular filter, gave the car time to kool off again, put in a K&N and ran 2/10s quicker. And i had an auto so it wasnt because of the shifting. But anyway you do it a 4 door beating an SS is just awesome! I really need a C32

ro0zy:

Your quarter mile times look accurate in terms of what the C32 is capable of. Most magazines tested the C32 @ about 5 sec. 0-60 and 13.6 for the 1/4 mile. Those times seemed very slow. Especially considering that most magazines tested the SLK32 at about 4.5 sec. 0-60 and 13.0 in the 1/4. The C32 does not weigh that much more than the SLK32. The C32 is really awesome! I'm considering selling my ML55 and buying a C32. I'm just not sure if I want to chance selling an AWD before the winter is over in Washington, DC. Let me know what happens to your 1/4 times with the new tires. The Pirelli Rosso's really slow the C32 down, considering that the SLK32 comes with Michelin Pilot Sports. I would not be surprised to see your times drop below 13.

C32/E55 First Test Drive

I went to the local MB dealer who had a C32 & E55 that I test drove. I thought both cars felt pretty fast. Though the C32 felt fast, it did not feel real quick. The power is so smooth that the car is deceiptively fast. IMO the E55 felt faster off the line and up to 110mph. The C32 was very fast from 40 to 110mph. Gosh, the way the dealer let me drive both cars so hard with less than 50 total miles on them makes me want to get one that is an absolutely fresh delivery vehicle with virtually no miles on them.
