IC Pump
My contact in Germany provided this link:
http://www.vw-t3.info/board/viewtopic.php?t=481
Scroll and you will see the JX-Pumpe/ Bosch Pumpe side by side.
His local Mercedes dealer "had not heard of any IC pump issues"... He confirmed, that the Bosch number - Bosch-Nummer PCA 12V 0392 022 003 corresponds with a Mercedes parts number 0005000386; cost retail 204 Euro. He also learned, that the pump is used in the G etc.
The VW forum info. suggests, that the same pump is also used in other vehicles, at a reasonable replacement cost (204 Euro vs. $700 local).

IC Pump; how long/many miles did it last
the 2nd time around and who installed the first replacement. Was it still under warrenty? Did you have the relay/recall job done and when was that (roughly how many miles ago).
My reason for asking is twofold; need to know what the expected pump life expectancy is AND, I may consider "reaching across the pond"...
My objective - if Mercedes has a bigger problem then other manufacturers using the same part (IC pump); Bosch may need some help/provide information and help clarify the situation.... AT AMG EXPENSE (not ours).

The Ford Lightning uses the same bosch pump, so does the Ford SVT Cobra 03-04. The plug is different, but you can buy/make and adapter.
The pumps seem to last anywhere from 30-50k miles...

There are a bunch of threads on this already and you might hear it from the crowd.. If you search the forum you will find all the info you need.

AMGMark please elaborate
AMGMark You say:
"$89 bucks on ebay.... I am ordering one tomorrow cause I think mines going out again"; ok (I bought and installed one also, so have many others).
Please can you elaborate; I would appreciate hearing from you addressing the very specific questions I have asked above. You implied, the 2nd pump failed. After how many miles (YOUR experience). Did the 2nd pump fail after the recall fix?
Thanks
