Btw, has anyone measured the efficiency of the stock intercooler? What the temperature going and out of it is?

Sounds like a good plan, I think I'm having the same issue with my pump.
One question though, is there any way of proving that the IC pump's failing without a data logger, the car feels slower some times but I'd like to be sure before replacing the pump.
Thanks

Stock core is around 75% efficient.

When the pump dies, you loose boost.

You go from 349HP to 150HP, you will definitely feel it.

Right but there are times when the car doesn't really respond when I floor it (when joining a freeway @ ~50) and I just put that down to the C32 slow kick-down issue, am I wrong and it's really the IC pump at fault?
Thanks
Ps. the C320 was rated ~215HP

These engines take in 14.5 lbs of boost which is approx 1 addtional atmosphere (14.7 psi) to the atmosphere that we breath in. Knowing this if your car isn't making boost you are effectively cutting its power in half. I would say 175 horspower would be more accurate.

Note that AMG didn't just strap a blower on the C320. They lowered the compression to allow for more boost. If they did then the 215 HP + 14.5psi ~ 430HP

Woo Hoo, now that's a C32 I'd like to own (as long as it had an LSD)!
Thanks for the correction, I think I will be in the market for the replacement IC pump & possibly the enlarged IC depending on it's price.

Here is a dyno with no boost on C32, DME did not want to engage the clutch until very end, half way through fourth gear.

115HP/0.85 = 135HP

I can attest that the 135 hp is likely accurate - I had this problem w/ my C32 a few months ago, and was out-accelerated on the highway by a Kia. Good times.

Vadim, is the 15% driveline loss an estimate, or did that also come from testing? If so, am I correct in saying a stock C32 *should* dyno around 297 rwhp?

As an aside, I must say it's extremely valuable having an owner/tuner on the boards who has tried, tested, and verified EVERYTHING thinkable - thanks Vadim (and everybody else, 1Fast, AMG-Jerry, etc. etc. etc.).

Stock C32s are usually around mid280s. So the loss is probably closer to 17%.

Congratulations on C32!

Pump is pretty much a bolt on installation. It is $275 installed.

Vadim,

what do you recommend to get all air bubbles out of the Cooling-System after you changed the IC-Pump or HE?

Kind Regards from Germany
