New to C32s... Problems..
hey im pretty new to the C32... i mean i can tell you how much horsepower and torque the car has... (but who cant) i just my 95 mustang and wanted to get a real car ive been on this forum and others (not to mention autotrader) for the last few weeks and i just wanted to know if there are any common problems with the car (things to look for before buying....) i found a couple low mileage cars (about 40-50k) for just under $26,000... i have been researching between this and a 330i ZHP and obviously for the price and the power you get.... the C32 wins...
if you could help a brother out that be great...

There are some problems common to all MB C-class including front suspension bushing failures, and seat warmers that fail.
C32 has an intercooler pump that fails regularly, but if you're creative and mechanical, you can buy and adapt a Ford Lightning pump (same model, different connectors) for about $100.
Earlier C32s have had problems with coolant leaking into the tranny fluid via the tranny cooler lines. It does not affect all C32s. It's not an expensive fix IF it has not damaged the tranny yet.
Some C32 owners have problems with "quirky" transmission function at low speed and low power - hard shifts. No real diagnosis or fix.
Overall, it's a solid car, and pretty easy to self-maintain. The cost of ownership is high if you choose to allow a dealer to perform all scheduled maintenance.
If possible, buy it from a dealer and review full service records. If you can get it Certified Pre-Owned, do it. Any warranty will help you sleep.

Unfortunately all years have the possibility of this problem. I'm an 04 and I had it.

Fifth Ring has pretty much covered the common failure points. Another not to forget is the front turn signals often need a small wiring change (TSB detailed). I just had this done myself.
