Spark plug verification: IK20 vs BKR7EIX vs IFR6D10

Hey everyone, is our lowered compression pistons low enough
to take a spark plug that's 1/2 to 3/4" longer? Reason I ask:

I've dynoed the car twice allready, can't make the power that
I'm suppose to get.

1st) IK20's gapped at .0039 (never regapped)

2nd) BKR7EIX-11 gapped at .0040 (never regapped)

Before you go on and blast me, I've used the 2nd set of plugs
on my IS300 at 24lbs of boost with avgas & alcohol injection
and made well over 500rwhp.

The third I want to try is IFR6D10 #5344, but it seems the
plug is outdated and replaced with LFR6AIX-11 #6619. But
as the pics I'm posting, you're gonna think twice too like I
did to install them.

You cannot use that longer plug. If you are not making the right dyno numbers then look elsewhere for the cause, the IK-20's should be good enough. You can always go to a colder plug in the IK-22 or maybe IK-24 if you want to be the guinea pig.

Thanks for the heads up, I allready decided not to install the
longer plugs because I've seen piston slap on longer plugs and
higher compression engines, meltdown.

Not that I have better things to do, I want to rule out every
thing before I put the car back to stock and sell it if I can't
get what I'm suppose to be getting.

neihouma,

You seem like a knowledgeable C32 owner, so as curiosity more than anything:

1. what dyno numbers are you seeing now?
2. did you first do a "stock C32" baseline dyno?
3. what perf. mods have you installed?

TIA!

Rey, this is 1FASTC32 on Jerry's computer...

i am running the IK-22 plug right now with no issues...it may be worth a shot to try them, as they will help to keep things cooler and ward off any detonation...

FYI, if you look back at my times from the track after i installed the ASP Pulleys, you will notice that i really did not gain much from them, mainly because even though you are adding more boost, you are also adding more heat to an already overwhelmed and ineffecient intercooler system...

this is why i decided to go with the renntech stage 1 setup...there was a definite difference with the tuning...

i am not trying to get you to buy renntech stage 1 though, just wanted to note the difference...call me if you want to discuss this further, there are some options for you to look at before you sell your car...
