Drex, Brembo GT is the same as this setup. At least that's what Sander told me.

i highly drought they are lighter, these are Brembo brakes just with an AMG badge, and painted silver. so i dont think they will be lighter. but u never know i guess until u have it in ur hands to really measure it.

Wow really? I knew MB contracted Brembo to make the calipers, just didn't know these were the same as the GT's. Good to know.

Thanks, pshek! You're gonna have some mod money now

You could be right Harry. I just can't wait to see how these look on my car. w/ my rims. I think it'll make my color matched rims stand out more...hopefully...we'll see soon enough.

for sure, u should soo do this mod, i think it will look really good with ur wheels, these brakes are sweet, and work soo well i can not even begin to tell you the feel of being able to come to a full stop before even applying the full brake pleasure, before u get the brake peddle 25% way in, the car is coming to a full stop. (from any speed) it is sooo good.

We'll see how I feel after the weekend

BTW, I was also gonna ask, did you do the proper "brake bedding" process before your normal daily-drive braking?

ya i followed that to the T, my friend who help me install this on my car is a flesh out car guy, and has built cars in the past so he took the car out and did the brake bedding the way it should have been done. after he did that is when i read on line how to do it, and knew that he did all those steps. so ya it was a good process and a good learning experience, i honestly did not know about that. but i'm glad he did.

Yeah. Not a lot of people do know about that. And it's a shame when people get good upgrades and don't do it because a lot of times, that's when people experience problems with warped rotors.

I usually do it even after a shop has done my brakes, just to be safe. Leads to longer lasting brakes, as well as more responsive.

agreed, but the same friend that helped me install these brakes is the one that does all my brake/car work. so i'm always there, that way i learn and can do the same thing next time.

So, I did the upgrade. They look WAY smaller on my rims than on Harry's car!...LOL. I think the color match rims also make the brakes look smaller.

Still freaking awesome and the caliper is massive!

the Brembo 6 piston 360mm brakes are the same setup as the 030. However the Brembo 4 piston 355mm brakes do have lighter rotors at 5lbs lighter per rotor. The 355mm GT rotor weight in at around 15-16lbs. The 030/6 piston rotors weight in at around 21-22lbs.

of course all are still lighter than the solid 335mm setup weight in at 29-30lbs each for just rotors.

kicker in the *** is Brembo does not sell the HAT for the rotors. they only sell the replacement rotor that goes onto the HAT you already has from the Brembo GT kit. From looking at my rotors and the 030 rotors, they use different HAT.

The Brembo GT kits use a different hat, rotor and caliper than the MB/AMG parts. If you get the 6 piston monoblock the the bridge is integral so the pads are split in two. If its the 4 piston kit it uses an F40 caliper (non monoblock)
