brake issue

Well as some of you guys know I am planing a trip to Orlando. Im trying to get my car ready for it. I put new OEM rotors and brake pads in the front.
When im going over 60mph the pedal vibrates and the car inside sounds like im runnig over wooden planks. Brake have less than 30 miles on and feel like crap. WTF?

Did you scrub the hubs clean so that the new rotors seat perfectly true?

Did you keep the set screw installed so that the rotor is held in place and seated properly before installing the wheel?

Did you torque the wheels properly and to the correct specification?

Did you torque the caliper? And are you certain that all clips and damper pins that hold the pads are installed correctly?

Did you brake easy until the rotor coating is burned off so that it isn't gummed up on the pads?

This may sound stupid, but did you make sure to tighten all the lug bolts?

+1

All excellent questions... I've been tempted to try a brake job myself, but instead feel much more comfortable paying a professional to make sure all the "little things" are done properly and nothing important's missed. Money well spent, IMO - unless you track your car, you're probably not doing brake jobs that often... so the expense of hiring a pro is spread over a LOT of miles.
