Ontario drivers - beware of new nasty speeding law
"TORONTO (CBC) - At least 41 people temporarily lost their vehicles and their driver's licences after police began Sunday to enforce a new Ontario law intended to crack down on street racing and dangerous driving.
The drivers charged under the Safer Roads for a Safer Ontario Act, which came into effect at 12:01 a.m. on Sept. 30, will pay the cost of towing and storing their vehicles for seven days - about $1,000 - as well as fines of $2,000 to $10,000. They could also face jail time.
More than three dozen vehicles impounded by noon on Monday included one motorcycle clocked at more than 200 kilometres an hour

You forgot to mention if you plan on contesting the charges the fine doubles
and a second offence is grounds for a 10 year driving ban and your car is crushed
that law-makes my blood boil
It's an immediate suspension and loss of possesion (speeding on the highway keep it under 90 mph or say good bye) and if you wanted to appeal you still lose your vehicle for 7 days
the city stops cleaning snow if the sun is out
CC companies are paying for the ice rinks
shouldn't this be in offtopic?
