All season tires
I want use my c55 as a daily driver in the Chicago land area and need new tires. I am contemplating a change from a max performace summer tire to a high performance all season tire. The choices are slim in this category per my discussions with Tire Rack. In fact, you have to go to a 255/35 series from the OEM 245/35 series (there are only 4 choices).
Will a 255 sized tire fir ok on the c55 rear end? Tire Rack claims it is ok.
Has any one made a similar change? What tire did you go with and have you been happy with the performance, noise, etc?
Thanks in advance for your input.

I have Conti Extreme Contact. Excellent all season tire.
As You can see I'm in CHicago area also, used them on dry, snow, rain you name it. And best part on tirerack only aprox. $100 each.

Mine r 225/45/17 front and 245/45/17 rear.
Very quiet tire dry and wet (rain wet) traction is excellent.
Current I'm on 2nd set due to leadfoot illness
and current debris encounter on hwy.
I picked those because I use my car as daily driver and with weather changing constantly in Chicago Contis deliver best performance for the $$$
and eliminate need for set of winter wheels and tires.

I've run Falken Ziex ZE-512 (recently replaced by ZE-912) and Pirelli PZero Nero M+S and both were great. Although, the worst conditions I've seen in them was some rain and nothing below 30 degrees... definitely no snow or ice. My only complaints would be that the Falkens got a bit loud (supposedly improved on the 912's) as they wore out and the Pirellis seem to get minor flat spots even from parking the car overnight (though it goes away quickly as the tires warm up).

Check out the Nokian WR. I've heard nothing but good things about these tires. I feel your pain about driving the C55 in the winter and i'm definately gonna try these tires out.

Just put P-Zero Nero M+S on my car yesterday and they are very quiet for an all season tire. No experience with winter, yet. I ended up buying used on e-bay and have a total of $300 invested including mounting & balancing so I'm not out much if they wear quickly. Fronts are 225/45/17 and rears are 245/40/17
