Resonator deleted with sound clip.
Had the resonator deleted today. Done at Midas Muffler. I checked around town today and found one place that wanted $60 but they wanted me to leave the car there most the day. Midas did it while I waited maybe 30 min. and charged me $80.
As for the sound? Seems very little change to me while driving. Deeper for sure. But from the outside?
I LOVE it.
Hear for yourself.

Huh? The resonator is not part of the emissions system. It is just a secondary muffler. You knew that. I paid for mine via debit card also, and I'm in California, the most stringent emission law state in the nation.

I did this on my bimmer and if you can cut and weld you are all set. But for like $60-$100 I would just bring it to a muffler shop and they will have it done in less than 30 min's.
From what I have read the sound in the car is not much different from stock.

You can definitely hear the difference when accelerating. But when stopped, you can't really tell the difference. I would recommend it to anyone. Besides, if you don't like it you can always have it reinstalled.

they got the car on the lift and saw what I wanted removed,
but they said it is illegal in MA to remove it if it is working perfectly. (Mieneke and Monro)
Anyways, I went to a non-franchise custom exhaust shop and got it done.
They wanted $60 for aluminized or $80 for Stainless. I went for the SS.
This was definitely worth it.
I may replace the secondary cats with hi-flows later and just keep the factory AMG exhaust.
Unless the Dual exhaust from Code3Performance is irresistible.

Monroe here in NH said the same thing. I went to another non franchise shop and not a problem getting it done. I also buy donuts for the service crew where the car goes. You take car of them they take care of you.
My description to them is perfectly clear...
