C32 Laughed At....I Hate This
Just save it for the track.
If you think it's bad in a C32, you should see what happens when you're in a Lambo or Ferrari. It can be incredibly dangerous with people tailing you, sitting in a blind spot, blasting past you in the Honda Accord with the coffee can exhaust, trying to take video, wanting you to downshift and gun it so they can post their 30 second video on youtube.com.

Smoking someone to show them what you have or what a MAN you are?
You guys need some help and perspective. Your car makes you no better or less a person. I love cars but if someone is going to appraise me by what I drive they can do it all they want because they mean NOTHING to me. Life is too short to care about such trivial things.
I was tracking my G35X at RoadAmerica a few years back, and was conversing with the driver of a Corvette Grand Sport in the false grid area.
Shod with R-comps, the little Infiniti was closing in on 3-minutes-flat....a very respectable time for any stock-suspension car.
After I had gotten through complimenting him on his car, he tried his best to return the favor by saying "I like those cars....I think my wife would enjoy one."

Really?
We were ushered out on the track, and by the Carousel, I had made up the distance between us. He saw me in his rearview on the way to the Kink, but no pass sign came out of the window. Glued to his a$$ through the quick switchback, I had it flat-footed and was ready to go around him as soon as he made the sign.
Then he spun. Not wanting to give way to the faster driver, he carried too much speed though the corner and rotated 180 degrees about three feet from my front end. Now sliding to his left about 80 MPH, I narrowly missed the pointy end of his car as he slid backwards, helpless, into the wall.
BAM ! The rear of the car exploded into what looked like handfuls of dry spaghetti thrown up as it impacted the wall square on. The front end lifted up about three feet and settled in the grass on the runout.
Yellow flags sprung up at all corners, and by the time we made another pass, the wrecker was hauling the shattered 'Vette off the track. After the session, I cruised by him in the pits to see if he was OK, but he would barely meet my gaze, embarrassed.

In life I have noticed people who have high power cars think that they rule the roads.......but always someone around with something smaller to put you in your place..

Pair face charges in crash that killed 2
By Dan P. Blake | Tribune staff reporter

Two men today were charged with reckless homicide and driving drunk in connection with a two-car crash on the South Side that killed two passengers in one of the vehicles, police said.
Maverick Prudhome, 46, of Calumet City, and David T. Parker, 25, of the 7900 block of South Marquette Avenue, are each scheduled to appear at a bond hearing later this afternoon at the Cook County Criminal Courthouse, said Tandra Simonton, a state's attorney's office spokeswoman.
Both were charged with reckless homicide in the deaths of 54-year-old Lawrence Banner, of the 8500 block of South East End Avenue, and 36-year-old Norman Wade, of the 6500 block of South Greenwood Avenue. Both were thrown from Prudhome's Chevrolet Monte Carlo when it hit a light pole at 79th Street and South Chicago Avenue early Saturday morning, police said.
On Saturday, authorities said only one vehicle was involved in the crash; today, they said that Prudhome and Parker were driving their vehicles recklessly as they went south on South Chicago Avenue. Police would not say if the two men were racing.
"They were weaving in and out of traffic and somehow the first vehicle hit the light pole," Officer John Henry said.
Prudhome was also injured and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Police said he remains hospitalized this morning, but Simonton said his case is scheduled for a bond hearing this morning.
Police said that a third passenger in Prudhome's car was taken to Stroger Hospital to be treated for injuries, but no further information about that person was available.

you have more hp and money?why not take it somewhere where both of you can REALLY race ? There are plenty of amateur nights at the local drag strip and plenty of track days to play =)
You can show them how good you are at working the tree or you can show them that you know how to extract every hp out of your car on a road course.

My own story:
A few weeks ago I was driving home from two great days running with the Audi Club at Virginia International Raceway (2+ mile road course on the border of VA and NC). It was my first event in my 1988 944, which pumped out a wicked 158 HP when new. I left the track at about 5:15PM and stopped for a quick bite about 2 hours later outside Richmond. I roll into a McDonalds parking lot with numbers in my windows, and my track tires and helmet stuffed under the back (glass) hatch. There's a small contingent of "youths" with sparkley Mustangs and sport bikes. I park next to them and as I get out, a Mustang guy says, "You run that?" I reply, "Yup." He says,"What'll she run?" I reply, "At VIR, I'm lucky if I run less than 2:40, but I wasn't timing." He says, "I mean 1/4 mile time." I answer, "Drag racing? No way, I'm into REAL racing." To their credit, they laughed.

HAHA you certainly put them in their place =)
Drag racing is much more complicated than all of us think but I'd rather road race ANY second of the day.
Street racing is fun, you guys gotta chill. Most people on these boards are car nuts and drive aggressive as hell. I'm sure we've all done triple digit speeds and when we get challenged, its basic instinct to show whos boss.
I race on the drag strip every chance I get...for those 10 seconds or less, I'm free.
But otherwise, I also have fun on the roads (in a controlled manner of course) and will engage any willing driver if they wanna run.
We've all heard the lectures, keep it for the Scion forums. In the world of AMGs you gotta get used to it. There will be street races and high speed fun on the streets. Thats the way it is and thats how it'll always be (until the government mandates 40mpg...even then I think people will be racing their hybrids).
...He had no idea how to race and tried to make it into a cat and mouse game to make me follow him all around.
...when you guys try and race other cars (or if you do), do you guys ever get laughed at like this?
...This has happened many times from ranging from coming from people driving cobras, camaros, srt4s, and SS Cobalts (s/c) to STIs and EVOs.
The only cars i havent gotten acknowledgment from anyone without having to prove my C isnt slow (like the non AMGs everyone must think it is) with the exception of the E46 M3s and some S4s. Thats it....
Ok, and you want to know why you were laughed at??
hmmm, maybe because you sound like an absolute TOOL??
