Fifth Ring - which Kumhos are you looking at?

Probably the MX. Since I have winter tires, I don't want all-season tires, and the MX gets very high marks. Not a bad track tire either, and you never know when the C32 may find its way back on track!

I believe so. It's a newer model.

For the track, I would consider making the tires less staggered (meaning staying with 245s or even 235s in the rear, and/or going with 235s in the front.

I've gone another step and I use rear-spec wheels on the front and have 245s all around. It helps reduce understeer.

I was thinking about these, but Mercedes-Benz has issued a technical bulletin about the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S as NOT recommended for the W203. I think the problem is just road noise though - some kind of harmonic vibration/sound at certain speeds.

Hard to imagine that a specific tire could create issues with a specific car, but I guess anything is possible.

R the Kumhos your talking about Ecsta MX or just Kumhos MX? I use 235 all around with my Dunlop SP Sport for summers now and the front I could hear it Rub a little so if I bought Kumhos 235 or 245 wouldn't be the same?

I think it's Ecsta MX.

I suppose putting the wider tires on the front rims could rub. The rear rims that I'm using up front have a different offset and 245s do not rub. You're probably stuck with 225s if you use the OEM front wheels (without spacers). You might try a small spacer.

I just bought a set off this board and been meaning to get them installed on my stock rims. For some reason I can not bring myself to drive it in this salt, sand and snow . I guess it is only a car. Other thing that sucks is I would like to get some miles on it before the extended warranty runs out. Winter tires are must on a high performance rear wheel drive cars and nice on a FWD or AWD.

We have more snow here in NH than we had all of last year.

With my winter tires on (225s), I can accelerate fairly quickly and any ESP that kicks in does so much less violently. It really makes the car much more enjoyable.
