HP/Liter? How do we stack up?

It's really impressive to look at our motor and see how it performs HP/Liter in comparison to other pretty amaging engines out there....

C32 109
ZR1 Vette 100
E55 87

torque's more important then hp...but here are some other hp/liter

NA

s2000 ap1 = 120

rsx dc5 type r = 110

dc2 integra type R = 108

mazda rx-8 = 178

M5 = 100

notice the 4 cyclinders have better hp/liter ratios but no torque.

Also, don't forget that F/I engines usually make more hp/liter than N/A engines, so usually they're only compared against other engines in the same group... for example, the new 997 GT2 makes 147.2 hp/liter, the Evo X makes 147.5 hp/liter, etc.

hence why i only stated NA engines...not FI engines. I also only stated the stock power from each NA engine

power from displacement pretty much goes out the door with FI.

If i were to add FI...then i could've put 800hp 1.8L integra...1100hp 3.0L supras and 2000hp vipers.

All the 4 cylinders i listed are NA

Cars
HP/L is interesting but really doesn't mean much when taken by itself. The same can be said to a degree with dyno numbers. (Excepting using dyno numbers as benchmarks for upgrades)

There are so many factors to consider when comparing vehicles such as vehicle weight (A car with 100 HP/L in a 4K lb car will be slower than same in a 3K lb car), gears, etc. As stated, torque is a much better gauge of performance as torque will get you moving and HP will sustain it.

The best gauge for comparison is 1/4 mile timeslips.

Agreed... I wasn't saying "also, don't forget" to you, but addressing it to the OP, since the OP's list has both F/I and N/A cars on it. In rereading it, I should've clarified my comment was "@ hkycoldrct" but in addition to the point you made.

I can remember when 100hp/liter for a stock, street legal N/A engine was somewhat of a "power/efficiency holy grail," yet now it's fairly common to see... which is nice

No offense taken..just wanted to make sure my point was clear.
