Need Help with Mercury Insurance claim
I currently have a Platinum extended warranty through Mercury Insurance. Mercury is denying the claim for the seat heaters. They are arguing that the insurance coverage does not cover upholstery. I can understand this rule since upholstery is typically a wear item. I am making a claim for the seat heaters and not the upholstery. I am just unlucky that Mercedes chose to combine the two.
I feel that Mercury is using a loop-hole to deny coverage. I am looking for help from any of the forum members. First, does anyone know the legal process to follow to seek arbitration for this denial of coverage? Secondly, has anyone made a similar claim with Mercury and had it covered? If I can give them a claim number for a similar claim that they covered, it might give me additional leverage to fight my case.
Lastly, does anyone know of any other Mercedes models that have similar heater construction that has this issue? I hate to cross post but would love to find precedence.
Thanks for your help!

This just goes to show how these "easy to get extended warranty coverage" companies work, they are obviously not on your side in this case. This is why it is important to talk to your SA and get their preference as to who is good to work with and who isn't, BEFORE buying any extended warranty. Also read the fine print that is hard to read on the back side of your contract, you'll see a bunch of things in there that they can use against you.

Ok, second attempt at posting this...didn't work first time..
Anyway, I have:
The same car
The same warranty
They replaced the bottom seat heater, no questions asked. The heating element is considered an electrical part that is covered by the warranty. It's not your fault that the part is attached to the seat cushion. Do not let them weasel out of it.
Thanks!!!!!
