2002 C32 new

Carriage house of New London ( my dealer) has a 2002 C32 in their showroom. brand new...on "sale" for $50,900. Zero miles.(well maybe a few miles) My question....is that a good deal or could someone get a lower $$? I guess since it will be a left over very soon, if not already, they are decreasing the price drastically. 2003 models must be out by now. Sticker on the car was around $55-56K if I remember correctly. I was thinking of getting a used CLK55. Is this C32 too good to pass up?? What could be my low offer?? downside is the color is dark green...not really into that color.

Found out some more info yesterday. The dealership has had this car for about 6 months, but I believe they are lying , I am pretty sure they 've had it for longer(I remember seeing it longer than that). It has 119 miles on it. When asked about the miles they said people have test driven it. 119 miles worth of test driving...wow thats pretty far! I believe they have had the car for about a year now...but thats besides the point. The guy at the dealership said that it won't be there for much longer. They are getting a 2003 C32 in red in a few weeks and they are shipping out the 2002 C32 to someother dealership. I wasn't sure about this...was it just a ploy by the salesman to get me to commit sooner? Are they really shipping the 2002 out? I can't beleive they can't sell this car for this long. What should be the rock bottom price? I read the sticker and the retail was $54K. Sure it sounds like $50,900 is good but for 3K more I could get a 2003.
What would you guys ask for this car?? Just curious. Maybe I'll be a C32 owner???

Your statement confuses me. Let me try to understand the situation here:

You are interested on a 02' C32, which the deal is offering for ~$4000 below MSRP. However, you feel uncomfortable w/ the time this car stayed @ the dealer w/o being sold; and, of course, the test driven miles. So your focal question is wheter if the $50900 justifies a used 02' C32?

If you absolutely can't wait, this is a resonable price. Otherwise, you should put yourself (3 month) on the waiting list. You can get a brand new one for $54000 pre tax with most options (no ski rack). I noticed you live in CT, try Newcountry Motors off of I84 in Hartford. I got mine there for the above price.

Sorry to confuse....
I am in no hurry right now to get a car. Still have to finish my CLK lease. My main question is how much LOWER can I get them to go down on the price. Of course I would be interested if the price was too good to pass up. As far as how long it sat in the dealership, that I"m not worried about. I am worried about the test drives....you know people are beating the crap out of that car. I know I would red line it a few times just to feel the force of the car. I really can't see myself in a C class....but for $48-$47K why not? I know my next car will be an AMG, I just don't know which one and when. But this could be one of those rare opportunities to get one now. Am I wrong in seeing if the price can come down even lower??? Just asking your opinions as to what the price should be......I'm sure everyone will probably say $50,900 is the right price, but I don't think so.
Thanks

It depends on the options - $50K - $51K was approx. the retail price with no options in 2002.

actually...I"m not ready to buy. I had to talk myself out of it. I can't afford a CLK430 and a C32. I'm in Connecticut anyways, but thanks.
