Huh? Babies how? FWIW, read the title of the thread, and the OP's posts; OP just broadly asked about lightweight wheels, and the only figure he mentions is $4k, then he goes on to ask if forged are worth the increased cost for the weight savings...

Since Dymag's were mentioned, it reminded me that I'd often wondered about the potential pitfalls of having a CF rim, so I posted that question in this "lightweight wheel" thread - maybe not exactly on-topic, but certainly not a thread-jack either... and IMHO better than starting the 1,000,000th new thread to just ask that question.

lighten up

What do you want to use the wheel for?

Buy forged if you want to road race (ride curbs) or run super low profile tires =)

I'd also advise to stay away from SSR GT3's because I've seen a few wheels bend easily on a road course.

You can get a set of volk progressive ME 19" for a little over 3g's I think...I'm happy with these and they've taken a little abuse at the track with no problems.

price now $500 nego.

strong lightweight rims. btw dorkin these wheels have quite a few track days and are perfect. never heard of track damage re SSRs. not doubting you but perhaps buyers may check with tire rack on this issue. i'm sure you'll get some straight forward info.

see post 48 in this thread.

I know they are only for BMW, but if you contact D-force directly they may be able to customize a set for benz specs... tell them you will be their "tester" for discount .

For the money its hard to beat those prices, they are extremely light for their size/price. hope that helps

Wow, I didn't expect those GT3's to fit on a C55, and sure enough you post pix of a C55. $500 is a bargain.

Ya i've heard alot of good things about the LTW5s, problem is right now they are only im BMW bolt pattern. 18x9 = 18lbs, 18x10 = 19lbs all for $1k for the set... its is extremely hard to find that kind of a deal anywhere else (especially anything that isn't hideously ugly, shame, I feel those would sell in the MB market.
