C32 AMG - Whats next?
Hi all,
what do you think will be the follower of the C 32? AMG showed in the past that they arise the displacement. First was the C 36 followed by the C 43. That was not very difficult to do cause the 430 engine was the basic for the C 43. But Mercedes Benz is not producing the 430 engine anymore. So what do you think? Will AMG create a C 36 AMG Kompressor (with a increased 320 engine)?
Imagin if they would use a supercharged 43 AMG V8.... like a kleemann upgrade.

Bah... I´m sure they won´t use the 500 engine in the C-Class. The difference to the 55 engine is to small so why should you buy an expensive E 55 when you get the cheaper C 50 ?

I am 99% sure that it will be a C38, with 6 speedauto, enhanced interior (like new E/CLK-Class), shifting at the steering wheel, 3.8 engine (S350) but with a different kompressor’s boost pressure. The main constraint of the current C32 is the high pressure and short intercooler. The new C38 will boost the same that the current SL55, 0.9 bar not 1.1 as the C32. Therefore, the Hp rice I would guess 375-380hp, but the torque will be considerable higher I would guess 380-390 lb-ft + the 6 speed-auto will make the new C38 much quicker in the high way than the current C32, and slightly better in the 0-60.
Well when?, is “the” question, I guess with the new generation of SLK by late 2004 coming to the U.S. as a 2005 model.
