2002 Blue C32
What is the correct color code????
I have a dark blue 2002 C32 and I asked the dealership for my color code. I gave the service advisor my VIN and the code he gave me was 189BO "Black Opal"????? Is this correct? How does black Opal have anything to do with blue????

Ahh, one of the great mysteries of MB paint-code nomenclature - indeed, that deep, dark navy bluish color is, in fact, "Black Opal"

2005 C55 AMG
I experienced the same thing with my 2005 C55, in which the car is clearly a dark, dark, metallic blue, yet for some reason the artists at MB decided to call it "diamond black metallic".
My door panel color code validated it to be true. Apparently by the information you provided, this has been a long running tradition with MB.

look on your driver door pillar next to the hinge. same sticker one corner says production month and year the other corner is your color code.
Black Opal is more green than blue.
