i just replace the intercooler pump and was wanting to verify that it was going to come on, should it come on with the key on?, will it stay on for a few seconds after you shut the engine off, regardless of how lond its been running?

Start the car, and rev to 3500 rmp for a few.....it will start the pump....
let it run for a few, then turn it off. You will hear it run for a couple of seconds after shut-off.

Stick your head down by the passanger side front wheel well and you'll hear it for a good 10 seconds after the car is shut off. Sounds kind of like the fan running in your computer.
