Large Gear selection display?
Just got back from Taiwan today and got a chance to see many of the nicely tuned MBs and Bimmers there(Shine and C32AMG-TW's MB )!
One thing that I notice is that the W203 C class has a LARGE "gear selection" display in the instrument panel(shows S on top of D while driving in D gear as oppose to 4 tiny letters)! I guess it is a "hidden" feature in the MB star diagnosis!
ANyone knows how to activate the feature?

I'm not entirely sure what you're speaking about. Are you saying that there is an option to make the gear selector very large, as opposed to the little number you see on the top-right hand side of the screen?
Here is a pic borrowed from Roozy. Maybe this will help.

I think that a setting to show the gear in the middle of the display or the RPM's (similar to the setting to display MPH or KPH) would have been simple for Mercedes to program. Please tell me it's true.

What I saw was bigger
S
D in the upper right of the display when the car is in "D" gear!
As oppose to the usaul
S
P
R
N
D in tiny letters! Althought it does not occupy the entire screen, it is much easier to tell which gear the car is in when we shift in "manual" mode! I still remember this being one of the "most wanted" changes in the future in one of the polls! Maybe it's just a regional setting thing for ROW cars!

Newest picture that I borrowed from C32AMG-TW(Alex),,, and a little extra(293km/hr but is actually doing 300km/hr due to larger diameter tires)! YOu can kinda see the gear selection!

Hi Ian, I dunno what made you say that Japanese folks are blind? What's the stereotype behind that...? I thought it's interesting to know, so next time I can utilize it to mock on some Japanese. Anyway, there is a difference btw the Island of Taiwan and Japan.

Looks like everything is bigger
The Temperture, Time and the gear selection's font are all few size bigger than our current display. Let's try switch our from mph to Km and see if the font goes bigger.
