still wont do anything for the lack of swirl marks and lack of oxidation--especially on a black car. Even polishing compound on a rotary + Menzerna FMJ are gonna have trouble with it. I hate the paint on our cars, you can tell we got stuck in the cheap period that Mercedes had from 98-05. Both our E's have better paint despite the 91 being well...17 years old.

I have a silver unit and you cannot tell where they were on mine AT ALL. I'm from a pretty **** family when it comes to cars and I can say it's spotless. When taking the emblems off, use a hair drier (or heat gun) to heat up the adhesive and dental floss to gently pull the emblems off the car.

Are you serious, swirls and oxidization?? I Highly doubt the paint Mercedes Benz used is to blame for the decay of your paint... I live in Arizona, and I can attest to this extreme climate. With hi-speed dust storms, Summer monsoons, 110*+ daily summer averages, I have seen way beyond oxidized paint, heck I've see the metal! Oakland Cali is far more pale in comparison to the harsh weather of AZ! It sounds more like you car doesn't fall victim to the O.C.D. of cleaning/polishing lol. My last 03 W203 was met. blk and that was one of the deepest, most glossy paint jobs I've seen. One of my clients drives an 92 E -class and that car desperately needs new paint! Like folex187 said, clay bar your paint. Prep it first by washing with a mild dish soap like Dawn or Palmolive to remove the existing wax and start working with fresh paint. polish then wax any leftover oxidation and keep it maintained with spray detail waxes like Meguiars http://www.meguiars.com/estore/product_list.cfm?sectionname=Consumer%20(Meguiar's %20Brand)>Auto%20Paint%20Care>Car%20Maintenance&se ctionID=1160. (guess the link is too long to click on) I love the NXT Gen Spray wax It keeps my paint looking and feeling as new as it did it's first day. GL
