05 C55 a/c question
I've been using the a/c in my c55 a lot these past couple weeks and i can't seem to get anything except ice cold air to come out. I know that sounds weird, but after the cabin has cooled off (especially at night) i like to just allow fresh air in. If I hit the AC buttin, the light goes out yet the air continues to be ice cold. If I shut the engine off, and turn it back on, then the air comes out warmer and humid as I expect when the a/c compressor is shut off.
I also like to shut off the a/c before shutting the car off to allow the moisture to dry out but I can't seem to do that either. Is this normal behavior? I can't seem to find any combination of pressing the a/c or auto buttons that will shut off the compressor once it's been turned on.
thanks for any help. I have 49,000 miles on my car so if this is indeed a problem I'd like to get it looked at under warranty.

it turns off but it take almost 10 mintues sometimes to do so and is very gradual. I've found that if you turn it off then on again and immediately turn off the ac button it kicks it off far quicker. It's a terrible design.

Kind of on that topic, but does anyone know how to route the air to only the dash vents and not the foot vents? My feet always freeze when I've got the a/c on and I've tried using the dial to different directional positions, but to no avail...

darkxerox, if you manually switch flow to come out center vent only and it still comes out at feet, it could be bad stepper motor that controls footwell flaps, or you may need to have all stepper motors re-normalized.
