Sun Roof Issue

Ok Before you all say do my research and re-synchronize I have. And here is my problem still. When I push the button to open the over head light flashes
and the radio station lights flash meaning the go bright then dim. My sun roof still will not open. Any ideas. Pretty much if I touch the button it doesnt open and it flashes that stuff on me. Confused and hope its not a major problem.

Thanks in advance for the help..

I haven't seen this happen before, but taking a stab at it I would assume that you might have a faulty OCP (the assembly with the dome lights and sunroof switch). The ambient light sensor runs through the OCP which tells your radio/instrument cluster lights to dim depending on ambient light.

Yep, the entire OCP goes haywire from time to time on our cars, according to my Stealership, or just dies fully. Mine went out since an accident I got into and the sunroof + just about every single interior light are all FUBAR. Talked to three different dealerships and apparently the only thing you can really do is replace the whole unit

Sounds like its time to hurry up and get an aftermarket warranty before it totally craps out on you....or it is past the point of no return?
Mine did the same thing a few times on me while on a long road trip but then the issue went away and hasn't returned since. However, in addition to the dimming lights, when I tried to fully open the moonroof straight back, it would only move back a 1/2" each time I pushed the back button, where as it normally goes all the way back on its own. It acted like it was binding and after just popping the sunroof up (vs. all the way back) and down a few times it seemed to clear up.
I have piece of mind in an aftermarket warranty with zero down should something go wrong though. I don't see how people can afford to have this car without a warranty.
