Travelling to Poland
Fellas,
I will be traveling to Zawiercie, Poland for work on the 2nd week of August for a week. Anyone ever travelled that part of the world and recommend some places to see? I'm hoping we can plan to land in Frankfurt, Germany, to sight see and drive on the Autobahn, that would be awesome! Or better yet see the "Mecca of AMG" Affalterbach, Germany.

What part of Poland is that? North, South etc....I may be able to point you to someone that knows the who what where etc.......
What kind of line of work you in? Pharma?

Are you going to drive to Poland from the Frankfurt airport? If so thats a long drive. I live about 200 K from Frankfurt and about 120 K from Affalterbach. Frankfurt to Affalterbach is about 200 K. If you go to AMG HQ's let me know cause I havent been yet. Been to the MB museum though and AMG is 30 minutes down the street. Have fun and I will keep a Hefeweizen on ice for ya.

A must stop is in Krakow, the salt mine where the Germans used to built Mesershimts during WWII. It really is a sight to see, as it is the oldest, still operational, salt mine in the world. Or so I am told. Take a private tour, aka they will speak English, and it only cost about $5.00 more

I lived and traveled EXTENSIVELY throughout Poland for MANY years my friend.
Heck, my wife is from Warsaw Poland, and my father retired/lives in Warsaw. Be prepared to see MANY beautiful women, and on a bright note, Poles REALLY love Americans.

Zawiercie is in southern part of Poland, a week may not be enough but at least it's something. That area is very industrialized, plenty of history and lots of things to do depending on what you are into.
