Just bought some Nitto 555's
not the 555R's. I got a flat and stupid me rides around with no spare tire in the trunk. I was luck and was a mile away from discount tire. All discount had in the local area was the Nitto 555 extreme performance 255's. I don't know much about them so i hope they are good, but at this point i needed tires bad and with a flat you got get what you can get. So now I'm home waiting for them to install them. should be an few hours. I will be sure to lay waste to these tires too.

I put 38k mi on my 555s and I probably could go a bit further. Side walls are a bit soft, I had a few impact bumps. Very noisy after a while.

Watch out for side wall bubbles appearing

Ever heard of Nangkangs? They're big in Asia and Australia.

wow, You must drive it real SOFT! I only got about 13K for the rears 20k for the front. I find that the Sidewalls wear very quickly on the front tires, and the rears, just melt away in the summer. They cant hold traction for $h*t, The BFG KDW2 that I have now work real well once heated up to temp, but they are BRICKS in the winter here in Central AZ.

a quarter mile at a time
I got 25K miles on my NT555's on my 19's. Decent tire. I didn't like the shape of them though. They did get a bit loud-ish after they're worn but what tire dosen't? Overall I'd say it's a decent tire.

Cars and boats!
The NT555 is a good performance tire. I forgot what kind of mileage I got out of mine when I had them (probably wasn't much with all the racing I did). I was able to pull consistant 1.9ft and 1.8ft 60ft times on them though. I'm talking about the NT555 street radial, not the NT555R drag radial.
I've since then had Toyo T1-Rs on my C. I like them a lot but want to try something new. Going to give the Kumho Ecsta MX a try next.

I've got Nitto 555's on my little 230k.They're alright for traction, but I do agree with 360 iti the side walls seem a bit too soft(front).I'm running 235's up front and 265's on the back and are wrapped around 19's.Good tire overall imho.

the side walls are WAY to soft, they wore down past the rubber! and the rest of the tire looks like it could last another 10K miles!

I'm in the tire business so let me chime in =)
Nankang is a decent Taiwanese company....I dun think they're very innovative and has 'copied' a few other tires...not very popular among us tire people.
The Nitto 555 has been around since 1997 or 1998...very old compound...wears like iron but since it's a directional tire, you get a lot of heel/toe wear on the blocks and they become SUPER loud. Tread pattern tech back then wasn't the greatest either so they 'can' wear unevenly.
Try to buy a assymetrical, non-directional tire in the future - this allows you to cross-rotate them and minimize heel/toe wear.
I have been speaking highly of the nitto invos because they are very comfortable and they held up ok on California speedway on my car.
Even though I work for Nitto's competitior....that Invo is really something. Just my honest 2 cents. If you got the dough thou...the PS2's are def. nice as well (currently running these).

I have the Nitto Invo tires on my C32 for 5,000 miles so far. I love them. They are VERY quiet. They ride well and handle very well. I have nothing bad to say about them. We well see how long they last. I keep my suspension in good conditon and aligned, I have no abnormal tread wear. And you can rotate them from side to side on staggered wheels. I havent done track days yet, but do drive a lot of twisty back roads, etc... deals gap.... Great tire.

how about the BFGoodrich G Force TA KD? those look real grippy, but I'm still concerned about the outside corner wearing down too fast since I like to corner more aggressively?

you guys give us a lot of business =)
Rotating tires shoudl be pretty painless...everytime you get an oil change...rotate them.i'm sure the mechanic don't mind unbolting/bolting 4 tires =) it's def. different if you do it yourself....
BFG tires owned by Michelin so they can't be too bad....didn't try out the TA/KD's yet so I can't comment on wear/performance =)
